Where Are You?

Awakened by that beautiful scent

As it caught me in a spell

In my heart it placed a dent

That old familiar smell

Looking around frantically

I didn’t know what to do

Asking myself painfully

Where, Where, Where are you?

The joys of laughter, giggling

The voices of children playing

The sound of their tiny feet

No other sound could compete

Running all of their fears behind

The thought of her enters my mind

Binding those feeling together like glue

Where, Where, Where are you?

Daddy, Daddy, a tiny voice cried

Daddy, I need you, it got louder

Barriers around me, to break I tried

Fighting, struggling, I couldn’t see her

Daddy, where are you?  The voice was fading

I heard it again, this time very slow

I’m right here!  I’m right ...

My tears began flowing

My baby, my baby, oh please don’t go

  All Alone Without You

(Dedicated to Mtima and La’Tisha)

I never knew how much you meant to me,

And I never know how lonely it could be,

But I’m older now and I understand,

That you are always there,

And you’ll always care...

Chorus

To have you as a father,

Lifts my body higher,

With your love and tender care,

I shall always hold you dear,

And when I’m happy...

I can always think of daddy,

But I’m all alone without you...

Where are you?  I’d often ask myself,

I heard your voice, but it slowly disappeared,

Awakened by your scent, as it caught me in a spell,

That old familiar smell; had me thinking again...

Chorus

To have you as a father,

Lifts my body higher,

With your love and tender care,

I shall always hold you dear,

And when I’m happy...

I can always think of daddy,

But I’m all alone without you...

As I’m older now, I can make my own decisions,

With you at my side, I’d have endless inspirations,

So I called out your name, you stood strongly at my side,

Now I’m set to move on, and I’m glowing with pride...

That’s why I’m lucky...

Chorus

To have you as a father,

Lifts my body higher,

With your love and tender care,

I shall always hold you dear,

And when I’m happy...

I can always think of daddy,

But I’m all alone without you...

Being all alone in this cold and cruel world,

How lonely I would be if I, couldn’t count on daddy,

And through all his pain and strife, he’ll make it through the night,

So I wanna be, as strong as my daddy,

That’s why I’m so lucky...

Chorus

To have you as a father,

Lifts my body higher,

With your love and tender care,

I shall always hold you dear,

And when I’m happy...

I can always think of daddy,

But I’m all alone without you...

To Daddy With Love

To have you as a father

Lifts my body higher

With your love and tender care

I shall always hold you dear

In the day and in the night

I will always hold you tight

When I look into the mirror all I can see

Is the reflection of myself with my father in me

When I am happy

All I can think of is daddy

When you die

I shall always remember you when I cry
